Welcome to East Arnhem Land
East Arnhem Land is one of the last wilderness
areas on earth! The Gove Peninsula is scenic with long white
sandy beaches, azure waters and green vegetation.
This vast tract of nearly 100,000 sq km of land is one of
Australia's last strongholds of traditional Aboriginal culture.
The Aboriginal people of East Arnhem Land call themselves
Yolngu and today live a unique lifestyle blending the latest
in western technology with timeless traditions.
There are many activities to do and things to see locally
and we hope you have the time to experience them all to obtain
a complete picture of the region.
Take a morning beach stroll to get you started and then have
breakfast overlooking the sparkling Arafura Sea. From then
there is any number of things to fill your day from local
Yolngu cultural tours, art and craft centers, interpretative
walking trails and fishing - let's not forget the fishing!
Your catch of the day can be prepared at one of our local
restaurants for your evening meal!
